The first step in every
networking project is the design of the total network with
all its components. One of the key design goals when we started
defining and architecting the next generation business application
line is the intrinsic capability to co-exist and ‘live’
together with it’s environment, and provide this environment
with the required services to enrich, leverage, support, and
extend its capabilities.
Understanding this requirement, we at ACPL
have been architecturing the entire business application to
allow it to connect in many different technical ways with
the external world. Connecting does however not only mean
that information can be sent to the system, but also that
data, and more importantly business events can be messaged
to the outside world from within the new architecture. Although
this seems like a ‘logical’ thing to do, its implementation
requirements go far beyond what we as software and solution
architects had to cope with in the past.
